The cooking process breaks down their cell walls and kills some of the enzymes and nutrients that these foods contain.

In addition to these catabolic foods there are many other foods that help to rev up your metabolism and help suppress your hunger. Protein is a very important part of everyone's diet, and they require the greatest amount of energy to break down. It is important to choose the best sources of protein such as meat, poultry and fish. You want to look for the leanest meat you can find and also prepare them in the oven or grilling, stay away from deep-fried as this adds a ton of saturated fat.
